Texas Size Standing Ovation

The teams/performers and individuals below represent hope, support, and a desire to keep our dance community alive while we all wait until it is safe to meet for large events, such as congresses around the world.

The names on these flyers are the names of the teams/performers and individuals who have purchased performer passes, full passes, three night, or one night passes and have committed to stay with us until it is safe for all of us to come together and dance again. We thank every team and person on the flyers below for helping to keep our dance community alive and for not leaving us when we needed them the most. In addition to these teams and individuals, we also need to give a special thank you to Damian Guzman and MOB for standing with us.

The Texas Salsa Congress will always put the safety of our patrons above anything else. The next TSC event will be held when it is safe to do so based on the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention, World Health Organization, and local officials from the City of Houston. The TSC will communicate and provide the latest information via email, social media, and our website, as soon as it becomes available.

Thank you and we look forward to the day that we can all dance again.

Our Story

It started as an idea between friends, bringing a congress to Texas where at the time Texas had no active congress in the entire state. A congress that would showcase Texas Salsa talent, bring awareness of salsa to the community and raise money for scholarships. Together David Melendez and Ruby Rivera worked hard and in January 2004, the Texas Salsa Congress was born.
