Vestido Rojo

The Texas Salsa Congress is excited to partner up with the American Heart Association & showcase some of our past performances over the years for the participants during their upcoming virtual experience, VESTIDO ROJO. This event is near and dear to me as two years ago I went as an attendee and learned that heart disease is the leading cause of death for women in the United States. Heart disease and stroke cause 1 in 3 deaths among women each year, more than all cancers combined. VESTIDO ROJO is Friday, October 2, 2020 AT 6:15 PM. This amazing event will provide information and resources to help. Check out the Facebook Event Page below for more details.

In addition, to showcasing some of our past performances during their event, the TSC has also curated a playlist for viewers to listen to and pump up their ❤️ with movement. The TSC playlist consists of some of the most popular Latina artists such as Celia Cruz, Selena, Jennifer Lopez and more. We are sure that you will enjoy this playlist! Click on the link below to be taken to the Texas Salsa Congress “Pump up Your Corazón ” Vestido Rojo playlist on Spotify.

Our Story

It started as an idea between friends, bringing a congress to Texas where at the time Texas had no active congress in the entire state. A congress that would showcase Texas Salsa talent, bring awareness of salsa to the community and raise money for scholarships. Together David Melendez and Ruby Rivera worked hard and in January 2004, the Texas Salsa Congress was born.
