Raul Orlando Edwards is a native of Panama and founder of Strictly Street Salsa, Houston's first studio devoted to the promotion of traditional Latin dances. A trained artist in the disciplines of Latin dances, ballet, jazz, modern, African dances, acting, classical music and opera, Raul has been sharing this passion for dancing and teaching through classes, workshops and performances.

He has performed and/or taught for organization such as Society for the Performing Arts (at Jones Hall), The Houston Grand Opera, Opera in the Heights, The Houston Ballet, The Debra Duncan Talk Show, VH-1, The Hobby Center for the Performing Arts, Sam Houston State University, Museum of Fine Arts Houston, Great Day Houston Talk Show, The University of Houston, Houston Community College and others, along with appearances on all Houston's television stations.

His commitment to preserving the ‘sabor' or the soul in Latin dances was recognized with a Proclamation by the City of Houston in 2003 and by over 20 newspaper articles written of his work. His unique blend of Afro-Latin movement and exquisite musicality is witnessed in his distinct style of salsa, which has now become his signature.
