Christian Sola – Florida

ChristianSola2013b

Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Christian was given a great foundation in musical genres, listening and dancing to Latin folklore, Salsa, Bachata, Merengue and Jazz. At a young age, Christian performed Folklore and Hip Hop dances at local talent shows and events. Although music and dancing were always a passion, they were temporarily forgotten after moving to Orlando, Florida in 1997.After a 2004 salsa class, the fire was re-ignited! Christian learned Salsa LA style On 1. Shortly after he started teaching classes and performing. One noticeable performance was at the “Amway Arena performing along Victor Manuelle, Ismael Miranda, Andy Montanez among others in (2006)” In 2005 he was introduced to Bachata soon after he started developing his own personal style Sensual Bachata, influenced by Tango, Waltz, and Rumba.

In 2006 Christian took his new style to the world in his widely-recognized YouTube “Sensual Bachata” performance. Today, Christian has traveled all over the World hosting workshops and participating in Bachata, Salsa Festivals and Congresses. He also directs Teams that perform locally, nationally and international. In the recent years, Christian found KIZOMBA. Being a passionate and close dance it sparked his interest immediately. He then trained in Spain with Pablo Vilches one of the top instructors in Spain, as well as with Ivo Iveira, and others. Since then, he has brought Kizomba to the Orlando Florida community hosting Bachata & Kizomba Nights as well as teaching it. Aside from teaching and directing teams, Christian Sola has started hosting big events. One example are the Monthly Bahhari Nights were he promotes unity among dance organizations by bringing everyone together for 1 night of dancing and equal promotion for everyone. This same idea was taken to the next step with The Unity Of Dance Festival & Paradise Dance Festival. These events have been successful by bringing national and international talents to teach and perform for the Florida community.

National and International Appearances: Reno Bachata Festival – 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012. LA Bachata Festival – 2010, 2011, LA Salsa Congress 2011, San Francisco Bachata Festival-2009-2010, 2012 Atlanta Bachata Festival – 2010, 2011, 2012 Orlando Salsa Congress 2007 & 2012, Florida ( Orlando, Miami, Melbourne, Jacksonville), International: Calpe – Spain – 2010, Hungary 2012, Madrid Spain 2012. Aventura Dance Cruise 2012

Christian also teaches locally in Orlando Florida as an independent instructor at different organizations. In the near future Christian plans to take The Unity Of Dance Festival into being a Televised Event with World Wide Recognition.

Our Story

It started as an idea between friends, bringing a congress to Texas where at the time Texas had no active congress in the entire state. A congress that would showcase Texas Salsa talent, bring awareness of salsa to the community and raise money for scholarships. Together David Melendez and Ruby Rivera worked hard and in January 2004, the Texas Salsa Congress was born.
